“ARI! NO! DON’T EAT THE DIRT!”
This was far too common a phrase while we were at Schuster’s Farm this past week as my youngest little girl seemed more interested in trying to eat dirt instead of looking at the beautiful field of zinnia flowers she was sitting in.
We’ve been a little stir crazy this COVID summer so I was so excited to learn that Schuster’s is open again! It is one of our favorite places to take the girls for family fun. It’s a farm with amazing activities for children of all ages (ages 2 & under are free!) and adorable goats that you can feed. But right now they also have gorgeous zinnia and sunflower fields which are available for you to pick and enjoy your bouquet all the way back to the comfort of your home! They also allow you to hang out and take pictures in the beautifully saturated field for some amazing shots!
It was a lot of fun watching (my two year old) Adelaide and (husband) Tom scampering across the rope spider web and feeding baby goats together. Addi didn’t seem to fully grasp the concept of “keep your hand flat” but those goats have some long and persistently hungry tongues and they managed to make it work!
If you don’t already have plans this weekend and are looking for fun things to do in Madison during COVID I would highly recommend checking out Schuster’s Farm! They are open this Thursday-Sunday (20-23) as well as the weekend of August 27-30th. Oh and make sure you don’t confuse them with Eugster’s Farm (which is also a fun one to visit) and end up at the wrong place!
Just a quick safety note since we are in COVID after all. Make sure to bring your masks as they’re required for the wagon ride and while standing in line. To save some time you can also purchase tickets online.
And finally if you still aren’t convinced to go, check out these sneak peaks of our time there to encourage you to get out and experience this amazing farm for yourself!
